PROJECT COMPASSION
In the book of
Mark we see the compassion Jesus showed when he fed the multitudes. The people
were with Jesus for many days getting fed spiritually and he saw their hunger.
He had compassion on the people and fed them physically.
Over the years there have been opportunities to feed
the hungry both spiritually and physically. At the present time, our team goes
into communities of high need to hold evangelism outreaches for the children. We
hook-up with a local church that will open its doors to let us use their
facilities. The team ministers the Word of God through skits, songs, and puppets
and afterwards we feed all who are present.
OUR GOAL is to evangelize entire communities through
the local church. Working with a church is beneficial in many ways:
1. During the rainy season we have a place of shelter and are not outside
fighting the elements.
2. Also, working with an established church gives an opportunity to have a home
church for the new converts and the families who attend the meetings.
3. Finally, we conduct workshops to train their children's workers.
Through workshops, we train and equip the children's
workers of the church to evangelize their community. We also provide them with
ideas and materials to be more effective in reaching the new converts and the
children that are currently in their congregation.
As one area becomes established and the workers are trained,
our goal is to leave it in the hands of the local church and then start the
process again.
Training the nationals to
impact their own communities, city and nation.
