PROJECT HOPE
Project Hope is a scholarship program
designed to give children hope to be able to break the poverty cycle through
education in the public school system. In this country, all children are
required to wear uniforms, buy their own books and supplies and get to and from
school the best way they can. If you are a very poor family with 4 children of
school age, you may only be able to send one child to school.
We feel without the proper education, the children will grow up and remain in
this cycle. We know that with God and education they can break this cycle of
poverty. Our goal is to teach the importance of education and that it can help
change your situation.
The families involved are so very grateful in the help they receive. The are so
amazed that other people who don't even know them, want to help send their
children to school.
Every December, we ask for sponsors, (individuals and churches), to give
finances to fully scholarship a child for the school year which starts in
February. Children are then supplied with the proper materials, school uniforms,
PE uniform, shoes, back pack, books, supplies and money for transportation.
Throughout the year children request money for more supplies and special
projects which are included in their scholarship.
At times a family may only need a little help. We also receive donations to help
partially sponsor many children.
All children in the program are required to give us copies of their report card
every quarter, required to maintain good grades and attend school.
We would like to help more children go to school. With just $480. you can send a
child to school with all they need for the year. You can also give what you can
to help with the partial scholarships.
Below are a few of the children who currently have a scholarship and attend
school :
